The first and major issue that is very important is potty training. Personally it’s never too early to potty train a pet. It is something that sets boundaries and goals for you as well as him. It is also a bit of training for you because it not only gives you a goal to strive for but it will also teach you consistency and discipline. There are countless times when someone has said that they don’t understand why there dog doesn’t seem to get into the act of urinating outside. When asked what they are doing to try and remedy this they usually say that they take him out and tell him no when he does it in the house. This is all well and fine but when they are asked how often they do it and how consistently they don’t have an answer. That is the point here. To train a dog to go to the bathroom outside or more specifically to not pee in your house you need to train him consistently to go outside. That requires that you put in the effort to see results. When you walk him make sure you walk him at the same time everyday so that he gets into a schedule.
Next time in a future article I want to go a bit more in-depth about what it means to walk your dog on a schedule. It may sound so simple when you hear it now but it has complicated steps that need your attention and your consistency. It’s not something to take lightly because these are the months where you can mold him into the dog you want him to be and how you want him to behave.
