If you’re thinking about moving to Minneapolis or just visiting, it has a lot to offer, and it’s a great place to live and work. The city started in about 1867 after the railway from Chicago to Minneapolis was finished being built and remains a diverse and robust place to start or continue a family and career life.
Sports teams are part of Minneapolis pride, including the NBA’s Timberwolves. The Vikings are also an outstanding NFL Football team. There are also college teams that are a great draw as well, such as the Golden Gophers (from University of Minnesota).
From the standpoint of nightlife, Minneapolis has everything you need to have a great time, rev up the energy, or relax. No matter what you need any particular night, you will find it downtown. One example is “Buster’s on 28th“ located on—you guessed it—28th Avenue! This is a comfortable and laid back atmosphere with not only drinks but lots of great food, like burgers, pizza, and other similar basic entrées.
For something a little different, try Café Havana over on Washington Avenue. It has a more upbeat atmosphere, and is a great hangout for business and classy patrons. Sip some win and have a nice social hour, while enjoying lots of great food. Some of the unique classics at Café Havana include fried yucca, fried plantains, tres leches cake, and conch fritters. Even after the restaurant closes, the bar stays open for a couple hours.
For the jazz lover in you, check out Dakota Jazz Club on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. You can enjoy dinner, drinks, great people, and of course some of the areas finest blues and jazz musicians. The wine is choice, the atmosphere relaxed, and there is even an outdoor mezzanine to hang out and socialize (with the music as the backdrop of your night time conversing).
If you are visiting the Minneapolis area, hotels and lodging of whatever type you need are easy to find. Whether you want something basic with limited features, or a full service hotel with all of the luxuries and amenities, Minneapolis has it.
There are also many great restaurants, again from the simple burger joints to classy cafés and such. No matter what type of food you are in the mood for, you’ll find it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. There are restaurants such as Asian, international, Italian, steakhouses, and so much more—all in this, the beautiful and diverse city and culture of Minneapolis. You’ll also find succulent deserts and delicious hot coffee drinks to follow that perfect meal, or on the go in between destinations as you travel around the city and suburbs.
